Inaguration of new art pieces

On November 20th we had the pleasure of inaugurating our new art pieces ”Rock Face” (Bergväggen 2019) ”Mirror Lake” (Spegelsjön 2019) and ”Birch Forest” (Björkskogen 2019) as well as the amazing new wine and piano bar Ktvå in Uppsala, Sweden.

Collaboration for sustainable forest management

The artists and photographers Mattias and Iris Alexandrov Klum have now officially joined troops with the worlds first company spearheading wood related traceability internationally - Tracy of Sweden.

The company Tracy of Sweden work, both in the realm of forest industry as well as on the community and consumer level to enable a crucial paradigm shift when it comes to traceability of wood and wood related products. New innovations secure traceability from growth to refined products. These new techniques enable new, more effective certifying models for sustainable forestry. Tracy of Sweden also work for increased protection against illegal logging, and is spearheading new innovative processes that also enables protection and conservation of the biodiversity and safeguards the resilience of forests.

The goal is to manage and protect forests  in collaboration between economic, ecological and social interests. By using new innovations, Tracy of Sweden create frame works for a more sustainable forest industry and furthermore tackle threats such as forest degradation and illegal trade in timber.  

Alexandrov Klum are ambassadors for Tracy of Sweden. Together they want to inspire positive change through awareness raising projects and dialogues.

The necessity of life - water

Water is a necessity but something we tend to take for granted. Our artist duo Alexandrov Klum has during a couple of years extensively worked on topics relating to water.

We have created two short films that visualize the worlds’ most important natural resource. But it’s obviously not only important for human beings; clean water is a necessity for all life forms.

With this project, in partnership with SEB, we want to inspire to a long-term commitment to care for our nature globally- the sole producer of this fragile resource. The trailer for our two short films on the importance of clean water in collaboration with SEB.

The Waves

Artist duo Alexandrov Klum in a new collaboration with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra.

Alexandrov Klum take a multi-dimensional approach to their work, depicting worlds through film and image projections, installations, music, and vivid storytelling.

The duo works closely with research on planetary issues, which is then portrayed by merging personal experiences and fictitious worlds. Through their stories, the duo aims to build bridges between heart and mind, between dreams and reality. 

The Waves is the second joint concert project in a collaboration between the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and Alexandrov Klum that will span several years.

Alexandrov Klum's opening for two new public art installations at Landvetter Airport, Gothenburg, Sweden

"The artist duo Alexandrov Klum hope to inspire to action and mindful reflection through art projects like ”Archipelago Anthem" or ”Sky, Sea & Horizon”. They wish to share a sensation of awe and respect for our fragile natural world. The gigantic outdoor photographic installation, is like a love letter to the Bohus archipelago."

Mattias and Iris are on their way to Tanzania for another trip with Zoom Photo Tours and also to work on several own projects.

Mattias and Iris in Mozambique

Mattias and Iris are in Mozambique for a national premiere of the documentary Vamizi - Cradle of Coral and also to do some more photography work on the Vamizi island. This morning they where interviewed on a live TV show called "Belas Manhas Talk Show" about the documentary and this evening's premiere.

Nikon Ambassadors

Alexandrov Klum have officially become Nikon ambassadors! They will present this at a photography convention in a few weeks where they will hold lectures. Come and see them! Link to convention here. They also have a short interview on Nikon's website. Link here.

Mattias and Iris at The Almedalen Week

The Almedalen Week (Almedalsveckan, also known as Politikerveckan i Almedalen) is an annual event taking place in week 27 in and around Almedalen, a park in the city of Visby on the Swedish island Gotland.

With speeches, seminars and other political activities, it is considered to be the most important forum in Swedish politics. During the week, representatives from the major political parties in Sweden take turns to make speeches in Almedalen.

Mattias will speak at a press meeting and an event for Svenskt Vatten about The Water Journey.
